Whispers From The Woods

Whispers From The Woods – Connecting and Reconnecting with Nature during Lockdown

Young people from South Derbyshire were encouraged to share their experiences of connecting and reconnecting with nature during the Coronavirus Lockdowns on 2020 and 2021, in a new creative writing and poetry project organised by Arts Melbourne, funded by a National Forest Arts Grant.

Experiences shared with the project inspired a poem to be included as part of a new nature poetry trail through Melbourne and surrounding woodlands. The poem EVERLONG / EVERGREEN will be previewed at TIMBER FESTIVAL at Fearnedock under The Canopy on 2,3,4 July. Our Poet/ Project Coordinator DAN WEBBER will be sharing the poem on Sunday 4th July at 7.15 by the campfire in “As the Crow Flies” so please join him! If you don’t catch Dan at Timber we will be sharing the poem during Melbourne Festival on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th September before the Poetry Trail is installed in its permanent homes.
